Welcome
Whether you are a new or returning student looking for ways to get involved,
there are plenty of volunteer opportunities on campus. Volunteering provides
a way to give back to the community as well as meet new people and gain new
experiences. I urge you to consider joining the 500+ members of the student
body already active in volunteering.
The Nabors Service League is devoted to
fostering a campus-wide spirit of service and community. Named in memory of
Jonathan Nabors, NSL was created in 1999 as a network for volunteerism, connecting
members of the W&L community with
service opportunities and the Lexington community at large.
Whether you're interested
in a one-time project with a group of friends or a weekly commitment, Nabors
has a variety of opportunities in all areas of interest. We can serve as a
resource for finding service opportunities, procuring financial support for
service projects you'd like to start, or recruiting volunteers for a developing
project. Let us help you help others.
Nabors also sponsors annual
events, including: Nabors Service Day, Dream a Dream – Read
A Book Literacy Program, Faces of Homelessness Panel, Midnight Runs, Thanksgiving
Food Drive, Books for Africa Drive, Annual Hunger Cleanup, and more! Please
email me if you are interested in participating or even organizing these events.
Please
take some time to look through our website. Complete the "My Volunteer
Profile" section to receive regular emails about upcoming service projects
that match your particular interests and talents.
Best regards,
